    Iona Sneddon

“As an artist I am very interested in expressing myself through chaotic colours and textures and how I can use these to portray certain emotions and feelings for the viewer. For this piece I wanted to paint the idea of mold and decay, but portray it in a bright and visually pleasing way. I wanted to have a dark and gory theme to it while using bright and happy colours to bring contrast. When looking at my art I want viewers to feel disgusted and uncomfortable but also intrigued. When you first look at this painting it seems bright and colourful with many fun textures and patterns, bringing a sense of warmth and comfort, but as you look closer you start to notice decomposition of this disgusting fruit."
